In the spirit of “Paris Is Burning,” Pornceptual will honour New York’s underground gender-blending ball scene. Everything is allowed, and everyone is welcome. Ask yourself, “What does it mean to be real? Who do I want to be?” Now ingrained into our queer history, ballroom culture started as a way for Blacks and Latinos to express themselves – a way to figure out how to respond to a society that tried hard not to see them. We want to take this one step further by adding our own porn twist. Our mini-ball, hosted by Ariclenes Garcia, will feature two categories: “Sex Siren” and “Runway.” Will you channel your inner dominatrix? Or reference your favorite porn actor?
