For this photo series Amaury Grisel and Franckie Vega invited their closest friends to pose with them, portraying dreamy landscapes of sexual desire and fantasy.

 

The aquarium is used as a leitmotif to represent the unconscious mind and repressed sexual desires. They say that if you see an aquarium in your dream that you have recognised these feelings and desires and that you are now closer to confronting them.

 

“They are at once present and a memory. I imagine them…they become part of my space, my room, my aquarium…they are the projection of my fantasies and my experiences.  An invisible presence, I witness their intimacy. Next to each other and at the same time alone in this space, am I the one imagining these bodies or are they fantasising about my presence?”
