JUNTOS – UNO A UNO is a performance project by Ahmed El Gendy and Joaquín Wall, where they were tied to each other closely with a green belt for the duration of 168 hours (one week), starting Monday 1 October 2018 at 6 pm, at the Provincial Museum of Fine Arts Emilio Pettoruti, in La Plata, Argentina.
The physical limitation of the belt was constructed to propose a space where the relationship between both partners would be in constant transformation and negotiation. It pushed them to interact with life as a collective body; always learning and developing its movement capacities. The durational performance encountered audience of friends and strangers in the public space, the private space, and the virtual space. As they adapt to the situation over seven days; Ahmed and Joaquin unfold their physical, emotional, social, sensual, and intimate journey together as a conjoined body.
JUNTOS is a video documentary about this performance.
JUNTOS will premiere on Sunday 8 September 2019, in La Plata, Argentina; through FESTIFREAK (Festival Internacional de Cine de La Plata)
