Shotbyly is a young Bangkok based photographer who uses vintage style to pay tribute to the historical golden age of Thai erotic magazines (80s-90s). This series of photographs come from a special publication that aims to highlight the beauty of Isan boys from the Southeastern region of Thailand. The word “Auey kubb” is their local dialect, meaning “Hey sister” which often refers to their girlfriends. This series imagines the hot and fun actions of Thailand’s famous “Songkran,” the water festival. It is the only holiday where young people get together to splash each other with water and put powder on each other, as these actions represent the cleansing of bad energy.
