“I feel that a lot of those so-called “body positive” pictures are trying to prove that the people they are showing are just as beautiful as supermodels and Instagram influencers. And in a way they do and it’s nice, but do we really need to have this point of reference? Why should we care about beauty standards that make people spiral into eating disorders and other problems? In these photos, I am not trying to convince you there’s no difference between those women and others you might see on this app. They are different in a myriad of ways and it’s okay. They are beautiful on their own terms, not because of any “irregularities”, but rather because of their radiant confidence that defies any comparisons.”
