The Uncanny Fetish

“This series of self portraits (a few literally are), are based on self inquiry and the how the nature of the “self” works itself into reality, duality, consciousness and the cosmos at large. There is a very personal story revealed of spirituality, sexuality and creation/beingness and its expression. I think of them sometimes as set and setting scenario for my most highest ecstatic self (awareness). For the large scale drawings, I photograph all my own scrap and reference material for these drawings and collage them together digitally to create my final scene. I then draw in from this image to create these huge pencil drawings. some of the common themes that will run through out all the drawings are: nature, macro vs micro, worlds within worlds, the fantastic and in-carnational constructs.“
