digital: Pornceptual x Klub Verboten – 30th of May

Despite social isolation, it is essential for us to keep celebrating sexual expression, fetishism and freedom. This Saturday, Pornceptual and Klub Verboten join forces for an exclusive online event. From Berlin to London get ready for a hot evening with cam2cam interaction, performances and DJ sets. Virtually but collectively. In anticipation of this virtual event, we had a chat with our performers of the night. We unpacked how lockdown has been affecting them creatively. And got a glimpse of how their experiences from the past couple of weeks have led to new virtual performance works. Xiang Yu Yeung

Xiang Yu Yeung is a multi-hyphenate visual artist. She works in between disciplines as a photographer, illustrator, poet, filmmaker and activist. In the dark paradise of the queer & fetish underworld, she has found a way as domina model & performer to radically own her sexuality and body as a vessel for her art.  She’s a woman on a mission: there is only radical, unapologetic sex & kink positivity in her world, she wants to let out & celebrate the inner freak in us all — and she’ll make you obey. This Saturday, let go of your inhibitions and embark on an Experimental Shamanic Erotic Ritual with Xiang. We shall descend into the abyss and retrieve what’s been lost.

The global pandemic has affected us all & the way we can relate and connect to one another is undergoing massive transformations. It’s challenging to cultivate & water our inner freaks when the spaces where we used to come together and celebrate ourselves and each other have fallen away. But it’s not impossible. Energy is energy.

LUKK PINKK

The artist Lukk Pinkk, born in Mato Grosso – Brazil and currently based in Barcelona – Spain, uses his photographs, installations and performances to encourage reflection on the beauty of the hidden, deep and out of the normality, proposing the cultivation of collective connections for share and multiply sensory experiences. The performance will explore the relationship between the limits of the body and the psychic possibilities as a search for unexplored fields in symbolic processes of this society. Deepening through the mythology of pain, vulnerability, torture instruments we will create an aesthetic scene to present a performative experience through the strings and the hot wax. This ritual of the body weaves an interdisciplinary action between the artists @lukkpinkk, @gluwur and @kenpolletofficial.

For me, creativity will always be present regardless of the situation. There will always be a creative outlet on different scales, but the lack of natural and occasional stimuli such as walking down the street and encountering something or someone has been a challenge. It is an unusual situation and the uncertainty, fear and negativity were also challenging and many times have overcome my desire to create.

FRENCH.FOXY

Mattie – French.Foxy – is a queer graphic designer and performer based in London. From his isolation, he created the nudity project unfucked in which he portrays the sexual frustration he experienced in a different way. Within his unfucked project, Mattie’s performance will express the idea of introspection and engagement with the self in isolation.

Lockdown is affecting us in a way that most of us have never experienced before. It has given me space and time to engage with different aspects of my mind, of my body, and I am so grateful for that. The content I create for unfucked and this particular performance is directly influenced and born out of how isolation got me feeling. That’s what really feels true to me right now.

Lohan Dakota

Lohan Dakota is a queer Spanish London-based fetish performer/dancer. He uses sensuality as an expression of the body, improvising while feeling the music.

There is something I really like about performing digitally, and that is the feeling of being watched without knowing who is watching you. Every day I dance in my room in front of a massive mirror, which I bought especially for these dancing moments. Performing digitally makes me feel like I am in a similar situation. I am normally quite confident but when I dance by myself, just music and me, it makes me feel like there is nothing else than music and the energy of me that follows the beat. I forget about everything and go with the flow. A state of mind that I can’t control. It’s freedom.

Lilith D’Lust 

Lilith D’Lust is a burlesque and fetish performer, stylist and fetish model. Sex-positive activist, her acts brings energy, sexuality, strength, and inspiration to the audience. Spreading sexual freedom in a BDSM artsy way, this fierce disciple of the Goddess Lilith is pure lust. Lilith’s Domina Catwoman Milk Show is a BDSM threesome where the Catwoman dominatrix plays kinky with her two cat slaves: @medusa_stoner & @sari_jahi. 

I have felt very inspired and creative during the pandemic as I have more time to research and focus on my inner essence. I’ve been rehearsing for my new burlesque show that I will present for the first time in October at the Berlin Burlesque Festival. As a fetish performer, my shows take place at underground clubs, parties and festivals, so I am hoping that those will be back on soon. 

Pierre Emö

Pierre Emo has, for the past few years, evolved as an actor, performer and model through films, theatre and porn. Always looking for projects where borders are blurred, he found himself in the art porn films of Noel Alejandro, Bruce LaBruce, and Yann Gonzalez. Pierre has pushed those limits even further through immersive theatre. He is also part of the Pornceptual collective since 2016 and a film programmer at the Oslo Fusion Festival.

The presence of people is dope during a live performance. It’s something in the air… I’m afraid that the pandemic affects it in the sense of interaction with the audience. Human contact might feel illegitimate now, or even worse, inappropriate. If being interactive is taking the risk to play with people’s boundaries, now it might be directly crossing one, and that makes a remarkable difference.
