A Special Porncast for PRNCPTL: Litoskha in Conversation with Rakans
For this special Porncast, PRNCPTL caught up with Paris-based DJ and BODYFLUID co-founder Litoskha, known for their dark, mental sets and raw queer energy that spills into every warehouse, booth, and darkroom they touch.
Interview by Rakans: “Hello Hayatiii, We love that you’ve been with us during our recent Paris showcase, and we’re excited to ask you a few questions. Let’s dive in.“
Answers by Litoskha
01. What are your pronouns?
Litoskha: My pronouns are they/them.
02. Your sets are known for their dark, mental, and industrial atmospheres. What personal experiences have shaped this signature sound?
Litoskha: My music has been shaped by what I used to hear at parties when I was younger. In Paris, we used to have huge warehouse raves full of industrial techno. I try to hold onto that industrial side, what I still enjoy, and evolve it into something more modern and mental.
03. As co-founder and artistic director of BODYFLUID, how do you curate lineups that reflect queer values and aesthetics?
Litoskha: As a non-binary person, it’s important for me to prioritize FLINTA* and queer artists while staying within the techno vision of the party.
04. Having played in cities like New York and Brussels, how have these international scenes influenced your musical direction?
Litoskha: It’s always exciting to play in a new country and be exposed to a different crowd and club culture. These moments influence me most when I’m on the dance floor, dancing and connecting, not necessarily when I’m behind the booth.
05. What do you think the queer underground scene contributes to the evolution of global electronic music?
Litoskha: A lot, if not everything. It all started with house music and marginalized communities. The queer underground continues to push the sound forward.
06. Can you tell us about any upcoming projects or collaborations that you’re particularly excited about?
Litoskha: I’ve got some really cool gigs lined up this summer, and I’m working on a collaboration with another collective for BODYFLUID.
07. Bonus Question
Have you ever played a set while turned on, and did the crowd’s energy push you over the edge, figuratively… or literally?
Litoskha: I’m not sure, hahaha. I don’t think so, yet.
Mix Description
For this mix, I wanted to try something a bit different from what I usually do. I built something I’d love to hear if I were on the dance floor, or in a darkroom.
On my behalf & of the PRNCPTL family, we love you & can’t wait to dance together!
