“Queer people are extremely oppressed in very traditional Georgian society. A few years ago people were truly claiming that there are no Gays in Georgia, and many truly believed it. My photos are dedicated to Georgian Queer sensuality. I have started working on this theme almost 2 years ago. It is hard to find people in Georgia who are willing to get naked and don’t hide their sexuality. Thus I often photograph myself to encourage others. I am that Ginger guy on the sofa. most of the photos are taken in Their own apartments sometimes the only safe place for gay people. Now people already admit that we exist but they tell us not to show ourselves, they say that we can do whatever we want in our rooms.”
