FREE THE NIPPLE was created in answer to Sesta Fosta legislation signed in by the Trump administration which has resulted in the enforcement of puritanical censorship laws that target women, trans and non-binary people. Censorship silences artists and entrepreneurs and promotes a sexist double standard that does not align with feminist ideals of body and sex-positivity. In the words of Violet Rose – “You can sell breasts, but you cannot wear breasts, in America.”

KIRRA adapted the concept to nightlife and held a ‘Free The Nipple Toptional Dance Party’ at The Box on August 24th for an evening of hedonistic activism. The event was hosted by Boo Bess and featured performances by; Aurora North, Peter Mercury, Roxie Valdez, Sam Marsh, Poison Ivory, Shawn Gooden and Amanda Whip.
