I dreamt of a mermaid last night
I beckoned him over,
Wistfully exchanges glances
You could feel the tension underwater
His glistening lilypad, close to touch
I hold against the storm he caused, until I can’t anymore
An animal now, I fill him. mark him mine
I think this must be love.
I imagine being a mermaid, as grip loosens…
He slips out of my fingers and swims away
