“Dark Night of the Body”, is a black and white digital photographic collage project, inspired by the Peruvian author Jorge Eduardo Eielson’s poetry book of the same title, seeks to create relationships between body and landscape; visually reinterpreting the verses of the aforementioned poet.
Just as the territory is a geographical space that can be inhabited, can our body be inhabited by the territory? My work raises these questions and revolves around the idea that each experience with the landscape is unique and unrepeatable and according to the type and intensity of relationship that we have established, it will be engraved not only in our memory, but also in the body, forever. In this way, when the landscape experience is loaded with emotional values, body and environment become one.
