“I try to show my own reality based on the personal mythology that I generate. Also, I share my doubts regarding the femininity which can be perceived in the deceitfulness of seduction and questions genre in its sociocultural representation.
After the shoot, I redefine lighting and edges on the skin by digital retouching and I assemble all the elements if necessary. The graphic processing for the skin is visible like the paintbrush on an oil frame. Being in love with the skin treatment in the paintings of Van Gogh, I try to get closer to these paths. The skin of my models always receives a particular treatment because it is the only living element that appears. Fixed and imprisoned in a moment, my models seem dead. In the way of a romantic photographer in the nineteenth or early twentieth centuries, I redraw some elements and blush the cheeks with only traces left in the final images.
Processing of all these elements is deliberately invoked in a naive way. My work is focused on a “meaningful perspective”. It is a way to give my characters a size proportional to their symbolic importance and, to give objects the form that suits the meaning associated with them. The lines of perspective converge to suggest my point of view. I take images of reality and create a photo collage that shows my own reality built on personal tales. I create syncretic chimaera aided by metaphor, and by symbols that I am constantly questioning. My work articulates around bodily links to intimacy in dreamlike settings.”
